The company Gibraltar Jonery & Building Services (JBS) hired JAMENA Ltd. for construction and waterproofing the roof of a large capacity car park in Gibraltar: Midtown Car Park, near the Port and next to the Airport.
The parking is part of a large urban project that also includes homes, offices and commercial area. It counts with capacity for 1,057 vehicles distributed in ten floors with two levels each. In addition to the roof, JAMENA also executed the pavement and signage of the entire parking lot.
We chose as a solution a system that provided a continuous, elastic membrane durable and suitable for existing concrete support: SikaRoof MTC 18 System, membrane obtained from liquid polyurethane that maintains its elasticity even at low temperatures and is UV resistant.
SikaRoof MTC systems incorporate an exclusive Sika technology that allows you to use the ambient humidity to boost and accelerate the curing process. Even right after applied, the membrane shows no adverse reaction to water being resistant to rain 10 minutes after the application. This means that we can apply it in a wide range of humidity and temperature conditions. In addition, unlike traditional membranes Polyurethane, SikaRoof MTC covers do not release CO2, so they have no risk of generate bubbles.
The roof had two heights joined by a construction joint that It was necessary to seal with a movement resistant procedure: Sikadur Combiflex system.
IN TOTAL, WE BUILD AND WATERPROOF 4,024 M2 OF ROOF.
